The blank tag Margiela line was the main womenswear collection for the runway. These collections were artisan made with up-cycled garments and experimental fabrics and construction. the team at the Maison would go on sourcing trips around the world in search of vintage clothes and fabrics to repurpose. Among them were vintage leather bags, military surplus, Levi’s, and vintage workwear that was taken apart and meticulously reconstructed to create some of Margiela’s sophisticated yet playful designs.
